UMO ENO EMERGES CHAPTER CO-ORDINATOR OF MPM
As the Maintain Peace Movement Train continues to sail across the State with inauguration of chapter steering committees, the Honourable Commissioner for Lands and Water Resources, Pastor Umo Eno has been inaugurated to coordinate the Nsit Ubium Local Government Chapter.
Inaugurating the committee, the Maintain Peace Movement Chairman, Barr Emmanuel Enoidem stated that peace is an inevitable commodity in every society desirous of meaningful development. He maintained that the Governor Udom Emmanuel led administration has witnessed laudable peace which must be supported to continue.
Barr Emmanuel Enoidem who is the National Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party, said the MPM will stand firm with the leader of the Party in the State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel to ensure smooth and peaceful succession. In his words, “we will stand with our leader, Governor Udom Emmanuel to midwife his successor.” While stressing that it is the turn of Uyo Senatorial District to produce the next Governor, he said there are many qualified sons and daughters in the Senatorial District, but only one of them will become the Governor in 2023, and urged all to participate in the ongoing voter registration exercise to enable them participate fully in the 2023 elections.
In his acceptance speech, Pastor Umo Eno noted that Nsit Ubium has always stood for peace and will continue to support Governor Udom to ensure that the peace in the State is maintained. According to him, “I want to let you know that Nsit Ubium has always stood for peace and we will continue to stand for peace. I want to assure Nsit Ubium people that as your person in the State Executive Council, that Governor Udom Emmanuel will not abandon any project in the State. “The Governor has just pumped in N50 Billion into the State economy and has instructed the Commissioner for works to carry on all unfinished projects in the State including that of Nsit Ubium.
“I can confidently tell you as an insider in government that we shall benefit fully, and we are already benefiting with quality projects. Right now we have the only warehouse in this state for cassava, and there are many other projects that are coming. This Government needs to be encouraged and to be supported.
“I want to assure you our leaders that because Nsit Ubium has never been disintegrated, it will not be disintegrated now. I want to say that wherever the Governor goes Nsit Ubium will follow, to ensure that we have a worthy successor.
“I want to assure you that the peace we are enjoying now will continue. We want to assure you also that kidnapping and killing will not return to our State. Nsit Ubium is standing on this peace Accord and will fully support the Maintain Peace Movement,” he added. Pastor Umo Eno commended Governor Udom Emmanuel for being an apostle of peace and for advocating for maintenance of peace in the State beyond 2023.
Other members of the Chapter steering committee include; Otuekong Emmanuel Ibiok – Secretary, Rt Hon. Onofiok Luke, Hon Otobong Bob, Architect Iniobong Orok, Hon. Edet Inyang Eno, Hon. Ibanga Brownson, Mr. Uwem Ekanem, Uduak Okono, Mrs Glory Unyime Vincent, and Udeme Ubom.
The Committee advisers include; Senator Effiong Bob, Captain Iniobong Ekong, Barr Udom Inoyo, Hon Otobong Edemidiong, Engr Nkereuwem Ekanem and Mr. Joe Ikpat.
